Church Planting

Did you know that Church Planting is the most effective form of evangelism under the sun?

For nearly a decade, the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh has invested time, energy and resources into building the Kingdom and advancing God’s mission by planting new congregations.  There are now in our diocese almost a dozen new congregations which did not exist in 2001.

We have developed structures to ensure the birth and healthy development of new parishes throughout the past 10 years. Our church planters engage in discernment interviews and receive quality training, coaching and resources to help them succeed. The strides we have made well-prepared us for Archbishop Duncan’s charge to the Anglican Church in North America in June 2009 to plant 1000 new congregations in the next five years.
