God willing, seven men and women will be ordained to the transitional and vocational diaconate by Bishop Robert Duncan.

God willing, Bishop Robert Duncan will ordain eight men and women to the diaconate at Trinity Cathedral on Saturday, June 13 at 10 o’clock in the morning. The proposed canons of the Anglican Church in North America cite the requirements of 1 Timothy 3:8-13 as the biblical mandate for those to be ordained into this ministry, that “in accordance with Holy Scripture, a Deacon must be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, not pursuing dishonest gain, and one who holds the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested, and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as Deacons.”

Those to be ordained to the transitional diaconate (in preparation for priesting) include:

Christine Curley, of St. Christopher’s, Cranberry Township

Pamela Meeks, of Church of the Ascension, Oakland

Ann Tefft, of Fox Chapel Episcopal Church, Fox Chapel

Deborah Leighton, of Church of the Ascension, Oakland

Mike McGhee, of St. Christopher’s, Cranberry Township

Andrew DeFusco, of St. Christopher’s, Cranberry Township
