St. Francis-in-the-Fields, Somerset, will be celebrating their golden parish anniversary during a service to be held on Sunday, September 28 at 9 a.m. Volunteers from the parish have been hard at work, collecting photographs and stories, readying the church and planning the details of this special event.

As this celebration of parish history coincided with the wider 250th anniversary of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh, vestry member Linda Breen applied for and was awarded a $500 grant from the diocesan Celebrate 250 Committee for use in the parish festivities.

Celebrate 250 grants are still available for parishes who are planning events in conjunction with this milestone of our Anglican presence in Western Pennsylvania. Information and applications are available here (pdf).
