Nomination Process

In his capacity as President of Diocesan Council, Tim Moore chairs the Nominating Committee. To ensure that all Convention Delegates have a meaningful opportunity to participate in the nomination and selection process, this year we will proceed as follows:

  1. By December 1, 2020, all nominations should be submitted in writing via an online form on our website.
  2. Each Nomination should include:
    1. Name
    2. Church
    3. Short statement of nominee’s qualifications for committee or office
    4. Name of person(s) submitting nomination
  3. The Nominating Committee will confirm that the nominees meet the necessary qualifications (i.e., a member of the clergy is nominated for a position that can only be filled by a clergy member, etc.).
  4. By December 4, 2020, we will email the slate of nominees for each committee or office with the summary information for each candidate.
  5. At the December 12, 2020 Convention, the Chair will request the following motions
    1. That that the 10-signature requirement for written nominations be waived; and
    2. That the slate of candidates circulated on December 4, 2020 be approved for voting by the Convention
  6. We will then proceed to vote by committee or office.
