Who We Are
One church of miraculous expectation and missionary grace.
We are Christians, that is, followers of God’s Son Jesus Christ, who, through his life and by his death, is able to forgive us our failings and heal our broken relationships, first with God, and then with each other.
We are recognized by a majority of the worldwide Anglican Communion, a fellowship of more than 70 million Christians that developed from the Church of England. The Anglican Communion is a collection of 38 individual provinces. We are united not only by our historical ties, but also by our form of worship, which is based on a common prayer book, and our system of church government, which is ordered around an overseer, called a bishop.
We are members of the Anglican Church in North America. The Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) unites some 112,000 Anglicans in nearly 1000 congregations in 29 dioceses. It is a province committed to reaching North America with the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
